International Workshop on Efficient, Sustainable, and Trustworthy Network Intelligence (ESTNI 2026)

Network intelligence is central to future communication systems, but its growth raises pressing questions about efficiency, sustainability, and trust. This workshop is a joint initiative of the IEEE NGNI Technical Committee (NGNI-TC) and the IEEE FINE 2026. It brings the Women in Communications Engineering (WICE), Young Professionals (YP), and student communities together around efficient, sustainable, and trustworthy network intelligence through invited talks and a moderated panel. The topic is timely because sustainability targets, AI-enabled network management, and trust requirements are now core concerns in telecommunications research and practice.

Topics

  • Energy- and resource-efficient networking
  • Sustainable and green communications
  • Trustworthy and explainable network intelligence
  • AI-enabled network management for sustainability
  • Artificial intelligence and machine learning for network optimization
  • Blockchain and decentralized trust for network services
  • Web3, verifiable credentials, and decentralized identity in networking
  • Security, privacy, and governance in intelligent networks
  • Early-career and student perspectives on future networking committee

Description of the review process:

Submissions will be reviewed in a single-blind process by at least two to three reviewers, based on originality, technical quality, relevance, clarity, and impact. The organizers expect to accept about five invited presentations for the half-day programme; the panel discussion will remain the core session

Description of the review process:

ESTNI 2026 invites original short papers or extended abstracts on efficient, sustainable, and trustworthy network intelligence. Topics include, but are not limited to, energy-efficient networking, green communications, AI and machine learning for network management and optimization, blockchain and decentralized trust mechanisms, Web3 and verifiable credentials, federated learning, explainable and accountable network AI, and related systems, applications, and evaluations. Authors from WICE, Young Professionals (YP), and student communities are especially encouraged. Submissions will be collected via EasyChair https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ieeefine2026.
